Things were off to a slow start for Tommy Gunz at the Monster Energy Pro Open, finishing in 27th place, but he bounced back strong the next month in Chicago for Stop One of the SLS Nike SB World Tour. Chicago was Tommy’s first time returning to the Finals since 2012, and everyone was hyped!
Unfortunately, the Chula Vista king went a little too hard after Chicago and injured his ankle. This injury prevented Tommy from participating in Los Angeles, and curbed his chances at the SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship.
We expect a full recovery and return from Tommy in 2015, and can’t wait to see him going big on the SLS course like only he can.

SLS vet Tommy Sandoval, was born, raised and currently resides in Chula Vista, California. About five miles north of the Mexico border and the second biggest city in San Diego, Chula is home to one of the biggest, most aggressive styles in skateboarding. Last week, Street League road tripped south to visit the undisputed King of Chula Vista at his local skate park. Tommy Gunz grew up skating this massive park, which explains a lot about his ability to go big on and off the SLS course.
SLS Pro, Manny Santiago, entered the League in 2013 after qualifying in the Select Series, making this only his second year to step in the arena and face off against the other SLS Pros. He may have finished 15th overall, but there was never a dull moment with Manny.
Manny hit every 2014 Street League course with the biggest smile, lots of laughs, technical skating and did so while keeping the crowd super hyped!
SLS caught up with Manny at the North Hollywood Skate Plaza in Los Angeles for a fun afternoon session. As always, Manny was tearing it up with a huge smile on his face.
