Man Beaten with Skateboard in Fight Near Otay Mesa

A man in his 20s was stabbed and beaten with a skateboard during a fight with another man in Otay Mesa, a police officer said Sunday.

The suspect, also in his 20s, and the victim began arguing at an address on 30th Street near Del Sol Boulevard shortly before midnight, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims. It was unclear what they were fighting about.

At some point during the altercation, the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in his stomach and right shoulder, Heims said. He then hit him with the skateboard.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for the non-life- threatening stab wounds and cuts and scratches to his forehead, Heims said.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
