Calistoga reports upsurge in graffiti

CALISTOGA — City and private property were defaced Monday evening with graffiti, and officials are looking for help in finding the offender.

“These marks are familiar and have been popping up a little more frequently around town,” said Mayor Chris Canning, who hopes that calling the community’s attention to the matter will help flush “these people out of the shadows.”

“We are too small of a community for someone not to know who they are and where to find them. These are the type of quality-of-life crimes/nuisances that can escalate and change the morale and energy of a community,” he said.

Anyone with information on the graffiti should call the Calistoga Police Department at 942-2810.
