The senior managing editor will serve as a top senior leader overseeing the official website for Street League Skateboarding – Streetleague.com – running the overall content curation, editorial schedule, and freelance writing staff necessary for new content on a daily basis. She or he also will work closely with Street League executive staff, including General Manager and Creative Director to develop content ideas and year-long strategies for evolving Streetleague.com into an informative hub for the pro contest series, skateboarding in general, and all extensions of the Street League Media. This job includes hands-on top editing; staff management; project direction; and personnel duties such as recruiting and scheduling.
Oversee daily editorial operation
Oversee multimedia editors/filmers and their content production
Oversee, develop, and lead content strategy and series coverage.
Ensure all content meets high standards of Street League key sponsors and media partners.
Monitor daily traffic leveraging tools and ensure the sites are performing at their best.
Plan and coordinate major content projects including sponsor branded content schedule and series coverage.
Ensure the voice, tone and mix of content fits with the overall editorial strategy developed by Street League.
Collaborate on cross-functional projects with other senior management and with local market leads
Recruit and manage editors, reporters and interns.
Leverage freelance writer budget to develop unique weekly features and regular segments
Interest and direct ability to help lead site re-design, content aggregation, and copy writing to help relaunch future iterations of Streetleague.com
